Two teams from the Hackathon run by Westbourne Capital Partners, Meyer Bergman and Property Week at last year’s RESI Conference have begun their incubation periods.
H&S Easy and 999-Live were asked to create a piece of technology to improve health and safety in light of the Grenfell Tower disaster.
A breakfast event was held at Westbourne’s offices last week to mark the beginning of the eight-week incubation period, during which their ideas will be fine-tuned ahead of development.
The 999-Live team presented its idea for an app that could contact emergency services through live video call and GPS location, while the team behind H&S Easy, an app for tenants to log and track health and safety concerns with landlords, came up with the idea of an Uber-style rating service for tenants and landlords.
Westbourne partner Johnny Sandelson said: “There is an industry-wide need for easy-to-use technology, so it was great to see them engage in a discussion about how to take their ideas to the next stage.”
